อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศพบหารือกับผู้แทนพิเศษของนายกรัฐมนตรีสหราชอาณาจักรว่าด้วยสิทธิของกลุ่มผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ (LGBT+)

เมื่อวันที่ ๒ ต.ค. ๒๕๖๖ นางเอกสิริ ปิณฑะรุจิ อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ได้พบหารือกับ Lord Nick Herbert ผู้แทนพิเศษของนายกรัฐมนตรีสหราชอาณาจักรว่าด้วยสิทธิของกลุ่มผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ (LGBT+) เนื่องในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนประเทศไทย ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ โดยมีนายมาร์ก กุดดิง (H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding) เอกอัครราชทูตสหราชอาณาจักรประจำประเทศไทย เข้าร่วมด้วย ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและแนวปฏิบัติที่ดีในการคุ้มครองสิทธิของกลุ่ม LGBT+ อาทิ พัฒนาการเกี่ยวกับกฎหมายคู่ชีวิตและสมรสเท่าเทียมของสหราชอาณาจักร และพัฒนาการการพิจารณาร่าง พ.ร.บ. คู่ชีวิต พ.ศ.... และ ร่าง พ.ร.บ. สมรสเท่าเทียม ของไทย โดย Lord Herbert ชื่นชมความพยายามของไทยในการส่งเสริมและคุ้มครองสิทธิของกลุ่ม LGBT+ และย้ำคำเชิญให้ไทยพิจารณาเข้าเป็นสมาชิกกลุ่ม Equal Rights Coalitions (ERC) เพื่อร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์และแนวปฏิบัติที่ดีกับประเทศสมาชิกทั้ง ๔๒ ประเทศในเรื่องสิทธิของกลุ่ม LGBT+

On 2 October 2023, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, met with Lord Nick Herbert, the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on LGBT+ Rights, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the latter’s visit to Thailand and with the participation of H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Thailand. Ms. Pintaruchi and Lord Herbert exchanged view and best practices in relation to the promotion and protection of LGBT+ including development in legislation in both countries on civil partnership and equal marriage. Lord Herbert also commended Thailand’s efforts and reiterated the invitation for Thailand to consider joining the Equal Rights Coalition to exchange experiences and best practices with its 42 member states.
